Santa Fe, New Mexico: Third night free at Eldorado Hotel

Eldorado Hotel & Spa, Santa Fe, New Mexico

The oldest capital city in the U.S., Santa Fe, New Mexico, is getting close to celebrating the 400-year anniversary of its founding by the Spanish in 1610. Mark your calendars for summer 2010, when that moment in time is sure to be vigorously celebrated in this Southwest city at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

In the meantime, though, Santa Fe in its everyday state should be more than enough to entice you for a long weekend of art browsing, shopping, relaxing and consuming uniquely fiery (and addictive) chili-laden food.

Deal: At the Eldorado Hotel & Spa, book a three-night stay and receive the third night free of charge. Regular rates start at $199 per night (pre-tax) for the room at the lowest price level, equipped with a sunset view and a shaded terrace. The next price level up, which starts at $279, comes with a Southwestern-style kiva fireplace. Whatever room you go with, you’ll have access to the hotel’s view-blessed rooftop pool (pictured).

Go to the hotel website’s packages page to start booking; promotion code “PROSTA” will come up automatically; the third night will be deducted from your bill at checkout.

When: Valid for stays now through Dec. 21, 2008.

Connect/disconnect: The guest rooms include an ethernet connection, and wireless Internet is available in the hotel lobby.
