Considering heading up to Santa Barbara for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (that kicked off Jan. 22 and runs to Feb. 1)? Here are some festival-related hotel packages:
Hotel Santa Barbara offers a five-night stay ($1,500 with tax) that includes a welcome amenity; Continental breakfast; $100 dining credit at Bouchon, Opal or Seagrass; and a “four-pack “Film Mini Pak.” Single-night stays start at $284 with the same benefits, or $139 for room only. The hotel acts as the festival’s feverish headquarters on lively State Street where filmmakers and attendees rub shoulders. The bulk of the festival’s movies unspool at a theater a half-block away.
Contact: Nadine Turner at (805) 957-9303.
The package also includes valet parking, but you won’t need it if you leave the driving to Amtrak and walk the three blocks from the train station. Register at least three days prior to travel with Santa Barbara Car Free to obtain a 20% discount on Pacific Surfliner routes to and from Santa Barbara.
If you want to attend the festival but only want to stay one night, check out their “Film Lovers’ One Night Stay Midweek Package” that starts at $284 per night and includes a $100 dining credit, Continental breakfast and a four-pack Film Mini Pak.
The overnight package at the Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort (from $300) comes with breakfast, a four-pack and a “movie buff goodie bag” packed with shopping discounts, sightseeing information and movie snacks. The hotel overlooks East Beach, a tranquil setting just a bit farther out from downtown’s pulse. Book through Breanne Szabados at (805) 884-8568 or Jodi Piccolo at (805) 884-8523).
