Featuring key ingredients for a pampering getaway physically close to Los Angeles but psychologically far from its stresses, Bacara Resort and Spa, just north of the city of Santa Barbara in Goleta, is offering a great luxury package. Specifically for those who can take advantage of a non-weekend stay, it’ll be available for booking 72 hours only, beginning this Wednesday.
Deal: The promotion is dubbed “The One,” which is short for “One Room, One Full Day, One Massage, One Price, One Fabulous Resort.” Thus, you can guess that the special package features your room; a 24-hour stay (e.g., if you check in at 8 p.m., then you get to stay until 8 p.m. on the following day); and one massage per room — a 50-minute one.
This deal starts at $399 per night (taxes and gratuities included). If you want to up the ante with a suite and an 80-minute massage, your rate will start at $599 per night. FYI, without the package, you’d be looking at a starting rate of $385 (tax included) midweek for a lowest-price-level “village-view” room via the hotel’s online reservations.
When: The offer is valid for stays Sunday through Thursday until Sept. 15, 2009. Blackout dates are July 16, July 26 to Aug. 6, and Sept. 6. You can book online from Wednesday, July 15 at 8 a.m. through Saturday, July 18 at 8 a.m. (PST).

Umm … no thanks. Went to the Bacara for my 40th birthday. Leaky walls in my room smelled like mold and the masseur spent an hour telling me how hung over he was while administering a very mediocre massage. I think I’d rather spend $150 at a cute SB B&B, hang on the free beach (which is far nicer than Goleta’s brrrr), eat at SuperRica and go to Bikram yoga on La Cumbre!
