The historic Sainte Claire turns 83 years old on Friday, and to celebrate the anniversary, the downtown San Jose hotel is offering a great deal.
If you’ve been meaning to get up to California’s oldest incorporated city (and its first capital) for business or pleasure — the Tech Museum of Innovation or the Children’s Discovery Museum, perhaps? — you might want to consider this weekend or next.
Deal: Available for stays Oct. 17-18 and Oct. 29-31, 2009, the “Sainte Claire Anniversary Package” features the following for $83 per night, pre-tax: a room with two double beds, a king or a queen; breakfast for two at the onsite Il Fornaio restaurant; a bottle of wine; and two “1926″ etched wine glasses.
Without the package, you’d be looking at paying at least $134 per night, pre-tax, for just the room via other current online specials being offered by the hotel. Regular rates start at around $180.
Tested: I easily found availability on the aforementioned offer dates. With tax, the total comes to about $97 per night.
Connect/disconnect: We’re talking Silicon Valley. Of course, there’s Wi-Fi, and no, there’s no extra charge for it.
Tip: Take advantage of $24 airfare to San Jose via JetBlue’s 1-day sale.
