Move over Wiggles, the Jumpitz are coming to Legoland for the Red, White and Boom! celebration on the Fourth of July. Legoland boasts a fun-filled Fourth of July this Saturday for families venturing out to Carlsbad, about 40 minutes north of downtown San Diego in San Diego County. In addition to the Jumpitz performing music and dance from their latest DVD ,”Celebrate Animals,” Legoland will have old-fashioned family-picnic lawn games including potato sack races and “LEGO Limbo” on the Miniland Lawn. Uncle Sam will be walking around on stilts. If you need to refresh your memory on the Jumpitz, check out their website or watch a video that introduces the Jumpitz on San Diego’s NBC 7/39 TV.
Hours: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with fireworks starting at 8:30 p.m.
Tip: If you just want to see some fireworks but don’t really car about entering the park, come on out. Parking will be only $2 after 7 p.m., but get there by 8:15 p.m. when parking closes. And if you miss coming out to Legoland this weekend, note that you can catch fireworks every Saturday night this summer until Aug. 29 in celebration of the park’s 10th anniversary.
Cost: Ticket prices range from $53 to $78; regular parking is $12, preferred is $20. If you are driving a Volvo, you get Volvos-only parking right up front.
