Hotel deals | Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is having a 72-hour sale April 8-11. See properties at 30%, 40% and 50% off the chain’s best available rate. Don’t just think about accommodations within the States, it has international properties as well. During this sale, the Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour is 50% off, starting at $105 a night. I found rooms at this rate for twin beds in August. For $20 more, a king bed with a view of the harbor was available. I also saw rooms starting at $54 a night at one of its new properties in Boca Raton, Fla. Subscribe to Wyndham’s newsletter to find out when deals become available in the future. Hawaii | Hotel occupancy rates this winter were as low as they’ve been in five years. In February, the state’s busiest month, occupancy was down to 75% - the lowest rate since 1991, when it was 69.1%.  But the problem isn’t just with leisure travel, it’s the drop in business travel that accounted for 7% of the state’s tourism in 2008. Los Angeles Times staff writer Hugo Martin said, “In a letter to Obama last month, Gov. Linda Lingle and 95 government leaders, business owners and tourism officials urged the president to block any policies that would limit business travel in the future.” Read: Hawaii, suffering tourism drop, appeals to Obama
