Good morning, travelers!
Travel photography | There’s some buzz in the webosphere this morning about Google hosting images from Life magazine. The archive has millions of photos dating back to the 1750s. One of their categories is “Places.” When I looked, there were links to the Taj Mahal, Himalayas, Times Square and more. Searching “Travel” within the Life Images search bar didn’t return any results, but when I searched for specific travel-related topics like Great Barrier Reef or Route 66, there were plenty of pics to sift through.
Online travel | I’m attending the PhoCusWright conference this week in Los Angeles that centers around the online travel industry. One of the features this year is their Travel Innovation Summit. Attendees got to vote on the most promising travel innovations, and PhoCusWright named six finalists Tuesday from the 32 travel websites that presented. Who do you think made the cut?

This afternoon, Jane Engle and I will get a chance to meet with Rob Torres, Google’s travel industry director. Do you have any burning questions you want us to ask them about their role in the travel industry?
New York | Are you planning on visiting New York City this winter? NewYorkology has put together a helpful list of “Free Museum Hours in NYC for Fall/Winter 2008/2009.” Some museums on the list have “suggested donations” in a pay-as-you-wish sense, and there’s even a museum where you need to pay only a penny.
