Local traffic and news | The 210 Freeway is shut down in both directions between the 118 and the 5 due to the Angeles National Forest fire that escalated early this morning due to Santa Ana winds. Bay Area | The San Francisco Bay Area has fire trouble of its own. Angel Island is on fire. SF Gate reports that 250 acres have been burned since 9 last night and that the fire is 20% contained. Read: “Angel Island Fire is 20 Percent Contained.”
Asia | Fuel surcharges are nearly a thing of the past. Airline passengers in South Korea might face noise-pollution charges.
