Roundup: Explosives found in Mumbai; new pill for jet lag?; Starwood hotel deal

Mumbai train station

Good morning. Read on for a little news and a great hotel deal on this start to your midweek Wednesday.

Mumbai | Police have defused two 8-pound bombs found today in Mumbai’s central train station, the Associated Press reports. Read “India defense chief: Beef up air, coastal security.” The bomb was said to be left over from the brutal attacks on the Indian city last week that claimed more than 170 lives and injured hundreds.

Jet lag | If you’ve ever wished for a magic pill after a seemingly endless flight, your time may soon come. A team of Boston researchers have announced success in their studies of an experimental drug that eases jet lag by mimicking melatonin. Read “New drug may put jet lag to rest.”

Hotel deal | At Starwood hotels in North America and Latin America, stay one night and get the second night at 50% off. The offer is valid for stays now through March 31, 2009. All locations under this offer except Hawaii have arrival restrictions: At hotels, you must arrive on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday; at resorts, you must arrive sometime between Sunday and Wednesday. Book online through this page.
