Sierra:  Yosemite National Park  The colors of the Sierra can be vibrant in places. At Pohono Bridge in the park, dogwoods lend pink and crimson hues while maples and black oaks turn up shades of brilliant yellow.

Fall colors | You don’t have to travel to the East Coast to get a glimpse of fall colors. We’re quickly approaching the color peak in California, and here are some spots for viewing California’s best fall color.

Mexican border | Do not be surprised if you are crossing the border and get stopped to have your car searched. Mexico’s government plans to start searching 10% of the 230,000 vehicles that cross from north to south each day. This procedure is an effort to curb arms smuggling.
