Good morning, travelers! Are you in Washington, D.C., for Inauguration Day? Send in your photos to Your Scene. The picture above illustrates escalator crowds at the Metro heading out to the concert on Jan. 18, 2009.
Airline Travel | The article “In-Flight Confrontations Can Lead to Terrorism Charges” might scare a few people. It leads with a story about a mother aboard a Frontier Airlines flight who spanked her quarreling children, uttered profanities at a flight attendant and threw her drink on the floor. She was arrested and convicted of a federal felony, received three months in jail and lost custody of her children.
Travel Deal | Southwest is having a three-day 50%-off sale specific to Seattle. I tested flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Seattle (SEA) midweek in April and found rates at $65 each way, pre-tax. Use promo code “SEATTLE” when booking online. Purchase by Jan. 22 for travel Feb. 3 to May 31, 2009. Contact: Southwest Airlines.
Wi-Fi Update | United Airlines is getting into the Wi-Fi game. Customers on p.s. transcontinental flights between New York and California will get Aircell’s Gogo Inflight Internet service for $12.95 beginning the second half of the year. Do you think they’re late to the game? Read: “United Puts Wireless Internet on P.S.” at the Cranky Flier.
