Pigs on the run is a popular event at the LA County Fair in Pomona.

Good morning, travelers.

Local | Have you been to the L.A. County Fair yet this month? You’ve got until Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, to check out all the fun in Pomona. Then tell us, did you prefer watching the pigs on the run or the Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean act. Here’s a photo gallery of what you’ve been missing.

Hurricane Ike | The George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport in Houston will see an increase in flight service today. News from the Houston Airport System says that all domestic airlines are now operating at Bush Intercontinental Airport. Meanwhile, there is a big discussion going on about cruisers affected by the storm. One reader speculates, “There will be no cruise lines in Galveston until July 2009.”

Southwest Airlines is headed to Houston Hobby Airport with 100 airline workers to give employees a break and more than 10,000 pounds of food for the Houston Food Bank. [Chron.com]
