Roundup: 11 climbers listed as dead on K2; mysterious pyramid near Moscow; Beijing then and now

Good morning travelers! How was your weekend? Did you go to the X Games or were you down at Manhattan Beach for the three-day International Surf Festival? Here’s a photo gallery of the X Games in case you missed it.

Climbing News | 11 climbers have been declared dead on K2, the world’s second-highest peak. Most of the deaths this weekend resulted from an icefall near the summit that sliced through the climbers’ fixed ropes. The Pakistani military has been making rescue attempts and saved two Dutch climbers. Everest News has a list of climbers who have died or were injured.
