The well-known downtown L.A. eatery Philippe the Original will celebrate its 100th year in business on Oct. 6 by selling its French dipped sandwiches for a dime -- their price when they first appeared on the menu in 1918.

Northern California | 10 people were killed and 38 injured Sunday night when a charter bus on it’s way from Sacramento to Colusa Casino Resort veered off the road and overturned. Reports state that the bus driver loss control of the vehicle about 60 miles into the drive a few miles east of Interstate 5 just east of Williams. Read: 10 killed, 38 injured in bus crash

Huntington Beach | Were you at the blessing of the waves Sunday? An interfaith ceremony was performed near the Huntington Beach Pier sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. About 400 worshipers attended; many consider the ocean their church. Here’s a photo gallery.
