Universal Studios Hollywood will add a live song-and-dance “Rocky Horror Picture Show” tribute to Halloween Horror Nights 2009.
The interactive musical revue, heavy on audience participation, will feature Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Riff Raff, Magenta, Janet, Brad, Columbia, Rocky and other characters in the Terminator 2 theater. Songs include: “The Time Warp,” “Sweet Transvestite” and “Science Fiction/Double Feature.”
The 1975 British musical comedy and horror parody about a “sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania,” went on to become a midnight-movie cult classic.
A similar “Rocky Horror” revue played at Universal’s sister park in Florida during Halloween events in 2007 and 2008.
Halloween Horror Nights 2009 at Universal Studios Hollywood will feature a haunted maze themed to the “Saw” movie franchise and a scare zone inspired by the romantic zombie comedy “Shaun of the Dead.”
When: Halloween Horror Nights 2009 will take place at Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday through Sunday nights in October (with the exception of Sunday, Oct. 4) as well as two Thursdays, Oct. 15 and 29, and a Wednesday, Oct. 28.
