Amazing Race 12 begins; episode 13 casting deadline Nov. 27, 2007
Do you and a partner have the moxie to travel the globe for free, on a shoestring, on prime-time network television, in front of nearly 14 million viewers?
If so, the USA’s most popular travel reality teevee show, “The Amazing Race” (TAR), wants your application [PDF download, opens in a new window] for its lucky 13th season (2008-09). The submission deadline is Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 5 p.m. PDT sharp.
The show broadcasts each Sunday at 8 p.m. PDT, 7 p.m. CDT, on CBS. Season 12 of “The Amazing Race” kicked off last Sunday at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, featuring a diverse cast of 11 archetypal reality TV couple-teams, then flew to Shannon, Ireland, via LAX.

Here’s the lead from the L.A. Times review of the new season of the Emmy award-winning series:
“Astonishingly resilient and successful, ‘The Amazing Race’ has won the Emmy for outstanding reality competition for five years running, beating out sometimes better competition such as ‘Project Runway’ and ‘American Idol.’ What it has that its rivals lack is a sense of wonder, an almost naive ambition to widen the perspectives of its participants and its viewers too. Its scope is far broader than that of any other reality competition or, for that matter, most scripted shows. Like much great art, it feels bigger than it actually is.”

of? …a generation gap grandson/grandfather team 
…feisty sisters just a year apart 
…a hip(pish) couple savoring the honeymoon phase of their tryst 
…and a well-traveled pair of married, lesbian Episcopal clergy 
(omg!) …positively perky, platonic best friends (eliminated by a stubborn donkey [video, opens in new window], after they sniped another team’s taxi).
CBS has nearly all the bases covered for an action-packed season of its “unscripted,” WGA strike-beating drama and small-screen adventure. (Yes, TAR fans, all of this season’s 11 episodes are in the can.)

Sirs, Iam driving to Matton Illinois with the application for the race #13, we are not sure is
we will be on time for it because it said date line Novenber 27th, and the open castting is today in Illinois, are we to late for it .

The casting call is in Matton today. If you can get there by 4p.m. Central Time, them you should be all right. Here are the details I found online:

Hi Sarah, the application deadline for Season 13 (which just got the greenlight) was Tuesday, November 27, 2007, but it’s never too late to start plotting your strategy for the next season.

The Amazing Race 13 application deadline has passed and casting for Season 13 is ongoing.
Only Season 13 has been greenlighted at this point, and we don’t know exactly when it will be produced or air, yet.

Just wondering if you knew when the decide on the season 13 cast. My friend and I applied and did not know when to expect a response by, if we were chosen. Or when to stop checking our mail so excitedly- :) :) :)

What cities hold auditions?
