Late fall, between the summer and early-fall rains and the peak tourist season that arrives with December and January, is a fine time for a sunny vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Right now I’m seeing flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) starting at $329 (including tax; I found this fare on Expedia). If you can swing this, try for savings on the accommodations front with one of the hotel deals below.
Plaza Pelicanos: This resort’s two locations (one on the beach and the other a short distance away) are offering great value with their all-inclusive deals. Packages at the beachfront Plaza Pelicanos Grand start at $85/person per night, and $65 at the Plaza Pelicanos Club. Rates include tax and are based on double occupancy.
When: Valid for stays now through Dec. 23, 2008.
Contact: Plaza Pelicanos, (888) 830 3499.
CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa: This beachfront property is offering a “Girl’s Getaway Package” woven with opportunities to relax and luxuriate. For $318/room per night (pre-tax and based on double occupancy), you’ll receive the following: ocean-view accommodations; daily breakfast for two; a total of four spa treatments per room; two daily passes to the onsite spa’s wellness areas; and two fitness classes.
When: Valid now through Dec. 10, 2008.
Contact: CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta, (800) 900-8800.
Hotel Eloisa: For a more budget-conscious choice, consider this hotel in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone, offering guests their third night free. Regular rates here start at $61 per night (pre-tax).
When: Valid for stays now through Dec. 23, 2008.

How much is the tax that will be applied to the rates that are listed as “pre-tax”? Thanks!
