More good news for LAX fliers who struggle to find decent eats between flights: Pinkberry, the oh-so-hip chain of frozen yogurt shops that originated in Southern California, has set up business in Terminal 1, home to Southwest Airlines and US Airways. You’ll find it on the passenger gate level past security.
Known for its minimalist decor and tart treats, Pinkberry, which runs more than 40 outlets in California alone, often draws long lines outside its stores, especially during summer. You can top off your dessert with blueberries, coconut flakes and other treats.
Although it gets a formal inauguration today, Sept. 10, the shop actually opened its doors last week. Earlier, officials announced that Pink’s Hot Dogs, a longtime Los Angeles landmark also known for drawing huge crowds, would open shop at LAX.
“We are looking at the end of this year for Pink’s,” LAX spokeswoman Katherine Alvarado said; a specific date hasn’t been set.
What is it with “pink” and LAX vendors? But really, anything that freshens up this airport’s often-uninspired food options is welcome, and officials are making the effort. Over the last year, local favorites such as Baja Fresh Express, La Brea Bakery, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina and Gladstone’s have opened LAX outlets. As a frequent LAX flier, I say: Bring it on!

LAX food is fine; the airport that really needs to upgrade its food vendor is Burbank/Bob Hope. Expensive food of abysmal quality.

It seems like the yogurt fad peaked maybe in May? Anyways I see shops folding up and when I hit pinkberry now, they seem more empty.
I would short pinkberry big time - not hating - I like it, but over expansion seems like a given
