There are miles of galleries to tromp through at the Louvre Museum in Paris, enough to make anyone need a sugar boost.
That’s why it’s great news for visitors that a branch of the noted French Maison du Chocolat has opened at the museum’s threshold, in the underground shopping center known as the Carousel du Louvre.
Connoisseurs favor La Maison du Chocolat, founded in 1955 by Frenchman Robert Linxes, a chocolate master who did his apprentice work in Switzerland. He opened his first store on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore on the Right Bank and soon became famous for chocolate confections known as ganaches — especially the Zagora, infused with fresh mint leaves.
Now there are branches of La Maison du Chocolate in Cannes, London, New York, Tokyo — not to mention seven in Paris, including the new boutique at the Louvre. Stop in. A ganache is guaranteed to make you to see the “Winged Victory” with fresh eyes.

Thanks for this info. I’m going to London for 9 days in June and taking a day trip to Paris to go through the Louvre (it was closed the day I was there 2 years ago) I’ll definitely get some chocolate at La Maison du Chocolate. Sounds yummy. I’m really looking forward to it. Donna
