One night free at Marriott hotels in Hawaii and abroad

Marriott announced this morning a “free night” promotion for around 300 participating JW Marriott, Marriott, Renaissance and Courtyard properties outside of mainland U.S. and Canada. If you’ll be booking with the chain soon on a trip to Hawaii, or to Asia, Europe, the Middle East or elsewhere overseas, read up on this deal alert.

Deal: At participating city hotels running the offer, you get a third night free when you book a minimum of three nights, with check-ins Thursday through Saturday and inclusion of a Friday or Saturday night stay. At properties in London, however, the free-night stay is available only midweek.

At resort locations such as the Caribbean and Hawaii, you can get a free night when booking four consecutive nights, and this is available any day of the week.

The promotional code to use for bookings online or over the phone is “RR2.”

Tested: I checked the availability at the Courtyard Berlin City Center. This is one of the “city” hotels where you can get your third night free. The nightly rate I found was 129 euros (about $179), with taxes included.

When you research via the online reservations, you’ll see a total non-adjusted rate for the three nights (so, 387 euros, in my case, or $537), but what you should be charged upon checking out of your hotel would be for the two nights only (so, 258 euros, or $358, would be my total).
