I can’t tell you why I have to find the cheapest flight to London. It has something to do with the unending possibilities of travel that stem from London. There is the option of taking cheap short hops to Europe, riding an overnight bus to Amsterdam or staying right there and exploring neighborhoods (and new airport terminals) you’ve never seen before. I’ve probably been to London at least five times but I hardly know the city at all. It’s too easy to spend all your time enjoying all that one pocket of the city has to offer.
Deal: Farecast found flights on Delta from Los Angeles (LAX) to London (LHR) April 7-14, 2008, for only $402 round trip (including taxes). They included a layover in New York on the way home, and nonstop fares for $494. When I used their comparison tool, Hotwire found a fare for $395 including taxes just for coming home one day later (April 15) — and these were nonstop flights both ways on Delta.
Are you going to London this year? Pricing can vary week to week if not day to day. What great deals have you found?
Did it beat the last low fare we found? Yes! The Delta fare that I found on Farecast beat our last London sale on Air France. The previous low was $434.

I’m planning a trip to London in early November. Over the past three weeks, I’ve watched my favored flight jump from $823 to $855. Now I see Delta offering flights for a couple hundred bucks less. Do I book now? Wait to see if the other airlines drop their prices, too? Is there a better time of year to buy?
