Now that Barack Obama is president, there’s so much to be done — on the touring front.
A new monthly tour offered by Swissotel Chicago begins Feb. 21 and takes hotel visitors by bus to see the Catholic church where the prez worked as a community organizer, the University of Chicago Law School where he taught for more than 10 years and the barbershop where he had his hair cut during the 20 years he lived in the Windy City.
The South Shore Cultural Center, where the Obamas held their wedding reception (above), Manny’s coffee shop and the South Side house Obama dubbed “my Kennebunkport” are also on the list. Travelers can take a self-guided tour of attractions or hop on the bus for the five-hour spin.
The $299 “President Obama’s Kind of Town” package includes one night at the hotel and breakfast for two along with the guided tour. Contact Swisshotel Chicago for more information.
