Oahu, Hawaii: third night free at ResortQuest Waikiki Beach

Fifth- and sixth-night-free deals on the Hawaiian islands have always been abundant, but these days I’m seeing quite a number of third- and fourth-night-free lures. ResortQuest Hawaii’s bevy of hotels on Kauai, Oahu, the Big Island and Maui are offering one or the other of these promotions.

Most are advertising a fourth night free, but I thought I’d look further into one of the two third-night freebies — specifically, the one at ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel, which gets mixed reviews from a Frommer’s author but seems to get the thumbs-up if booked under a good deal…which the following is. (The other third-night-free offer is for ResortQuest Kauai Beach at Makaiwa.)

Deal: Under the “Fall for Hawaii” promotion at ResortQuest Waikiki Beach, you get one free night for every three-night stay. Standard amenities include a free takeout breakfast that you can bring to the beach and a free toy for kids upon check-in; the package also includes two-for-one admission at a nearby luau. Nightly rates for doubles under this promotion start at $260 per night (pre-tax).

For a third night free, book online and pick the relevant package from the offerings, or if you call in your reservation, just mention “third night free.”

When: Book now through Dec. 25, 2008, for stays between Aug. 26 and Dec. 25, 2008.

Caveat: The only blackout dates mentioned are Dec. 10-14, 2008.
