News tip: Keep your eye on the local news if you’re planning a trip to New York City in early September. At least one taxi group is planning to strike between 5 a.m. Sept. 5, through 5 a.m. Sept. 7, 2007. The issue at hand is that New York City is requiring taxis to have GPS devices by Oct. 1 and the cab companies are viewing this as an infringement on privacy for the drivers. But, it’s not for sure that there will be a city-wide strike. Here are some additional transportation resources just in case.
