Want to stay in Manhattan without paying Manhattan prices? Consider going the hostel route. If you’re well comfortable with the rooming-with-strangers scene, the Broadway Hotel & Hostel, which has a fall promo going, could be a good home base for New York City adventuring. (If dorm beds sound to you to be antithetical to the word “vacation,” the hotel also has private rooms ranging from $219 to $229 per night, pre-tax.)
Deal: Broadway Hotel & Hostel is offering stays in its four-bed dormitory rooms for $38 per night (pre-tax) per person. Rates for these beds generally range from $40-$55 per night. The recently renovated hostel has a 2,500-square-foot common area with a pool table, theater room, fireplace, plasma TVs and free wireless Internet access.
This hostel bills itself as a “boutique hostel,” and while rates are good for Manhattan accommodations, there are hostels in the city offering cheaper dorm beds. Have you stayed at the Broadway hostel, and was it good value for money? Do you have a favorite NYC hostel? Tell us in the Comments section.
If you book a bed under this hostel promotion, you’ll also receive a free drink at nearby nightspot Kazbar during your stay. You must book this deal online. Anyone but New York State residents is welcome to stay here.
When: Book by midnight on Oct. 1, 2008, for stays between now and Dec. 31, 2008.

Hi there,
Great piece! Who would have thought a boutique hostel in NYC (I’ve never even heard that term before). We report on the Jet Set and boutique hotels but not usually on hostels- we’re going to have give this one a second look.
Thanks
Rob
