Business travelers rejoice: LAX has teamed up with T-Mobile for “curb to nose” WiFi. The subscription-based wireless internet provider most recognized by their connections to Starbucks and Catherine Zeta Jones (contract expired) is adding Los Angeles and Ontario airports to their long list of T-Mobile Hotspots.
So, the question is, what happened to the limited access through Boingo?
Will those of us who signed up for Boingo to get access at certain airports including LAX now have to switch/add another subscription to T-Mobile? Why can’t LAX’s WiFi be free to travelers like other airports.

Last Monday on my way from Colorado Springs ri Hong Kong via Las Vegas, I found that the LA Airport had succomed to profit. The regional airports of Colorado Springs and the much larger Las Vegas Airport provided FREE WiFi service. I cannot understand that a city which is trying to give WiFI service to the masses of LA for free cannot provide this service to the traveling public.
Does the City of Los Angeles even understand that the little things like this say about the City

Not entirely true. I’ve been using Boingo for almost a year and last month they sent an e-mail about T-Mobile at LAX. It said I could keep using my Boingo account at LAX, which I did just last week. I guess T-Mobile allows roaming from other wi-fi providers in their airports, because I’ve also used my Boingo account at SFO.

LAX sucks so much, you think that the airport would offer FREE wifi for putting up with all the BS at this airport. Really. Other airports offer it (ABQ, PDX, etc) why the hell can’t LAX?
