National Geographic Adventure has rated the best adventure travel companies. First they narrowed their favorites to 155 and then rated the outfitters based on a comprehensive survey that the companies completed. National Geographic reveals their methodology and has put up a searchable database on their website so you can pick the outfitter that’s best for you.
Mark Thornton Safaris, Esprit Rafting Adventures and Abercrombie & Kent held the top three spots for best overall adventure travel companies. But you could also search by best in education, spirit of adventure, client experience, sustainability and quality of service.
Contest: Have you been dreaming of going on a National Geographic Expeditions Trip? National Geographic is holding a sweepstakes (courtesy of Philips Norelco) to give away a trip for two to Alaska, Belize, or the Galápagos Islands. The trips range between 8 and 10 days and include all transportation, accommodations and $150/day spending cash. The best part is that you can improve your chances by going back to the website each day to submit another entry. Deadline is December 31, 2007.
