Napa Valley: Weekend wine & spa getaway for two

If you owe your sweetie a weekend escape and don’t really want to think about the details, consider this Napa Valley wine package at the Silverado Resort. The “Napa Valley Wine Experience” has thought of it all—wine tasting at William Hill Winery, spa treatments, picnic lunch at V. Sattui Winery, entrance to COPIA: the American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts and a dinner at the Silverado’s Grill to cap the night off.

Deal: $1,090 gets a couple 3 days and 2 nights in a 1-bedroom fireplace suite at the Silverado Resort in Napa Valley, one 50-minute spa treatment per person, dinner with wine pairings at the Silverado’s Grill with award-winning Chef Peter Pahk and the aforementioned wine goodies.

Caveat: The deal is best if you arrive on Sunday – Wednesday; the price goes up to $1,390 for arrival on Thursday – Saturday.

Why Go: If you’re a rookie to the wine world but curious about wine and learning more, this is a thorough introduction. Bonus, the package price includes all tax and gratuities.
Why Not: It you don’t think that you’d use the spa treatments, you might save more money booking the trip a la carte. Also, TripAdvisor has mixed traveler reviews on service.

When: Ongoing year-round until March 1, 2008

    Does this end March 1?

    Hi Jeff,

I called to confirm that the deal has indeed expired (and they have re-organized their site a bit so our original link is no longer valid), but Silverado’s website shows several other special deals and packages available:

The “$99 Spring Special,” available through April 10, 2008, sounds pretty good, except it excludes Saturday night stays and the $20 resort fee.

Let us know how it goes if you end up booking something.
