The Gaia Napa Valley Hotel and Spa in American Canyon is celebrating their award from LEED, (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Setting an example for eco-conscious hotels, Gaia was noted for using paint with low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paints and recycled carpets among other green practices. Possibly more interesting to guests is the bedside reading: a copy of Al Gore’s book An Inconvenient Truth, the Gideon Bible and The Buddhist Traveller.
Deals: Like you would find at most Napa Valley resorts, Gaia has a wine tour package. $459 (plus tax) gets you accommodations, breakfast and a 4-hour limousine wine tour. Even more enticing is the romance package: one night’s stay, two 60-minute massages, one dozen roses and a box of chocolates for $369 (plus tax). Value plus the peace of mind that you’re supporting the first-fully “environmentally sustainable hotel” in Napa Valley.
When: Ongoing.
