The mad-dancing, mouth-gaping, tuxedo-wearing Six Flags spokesman emerges from retirement on Saturday to assume a new role: theme park mascot.
Mr. Six, the bow tie-and-suspender-sporting television commercial character who danced frenetically to the Vengaboys song “We Like to Party” and came to symbolize the theme park chain, will pose for photographs with visitors and sign autographs on a daily basis at the entrance to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
That’s right. Along with Batman and Robin, Tweety Bird and Bugs Bunny, you can now snap a picture with Mr. Six. The old guy is certainly no Mickey Mouse, but apparently past park appearances proved popular with visitors. I’ll believe it when I see it.
The in-park Mr. Six won’t be the same actor who appeared in the 2004 and 2005 TV commercials, but rather multiple masked actors hired by Magic Mountain to play the part.
All Six Flags parks will get a similar team of Mr. Sixes by summer (including Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, Calif., Six Flags America near Washington, D.C., Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, Six Flags Great America near Chicago, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Six Flags Mexico, Six Flags New England, Six Flags over Georgia, Six Flags over Texas in Arlington, and Six Flags St. Louis).
A nationwide Six Flags advertising campaign featuring Mr. Six begins in March. Screamscape reported in January that Six Flags had been test-marketing Mr. Six ads on select park visitors.

I’m glad Mr. Six is coming back. He was pretty funny to watch. Plus, making a commercial showing a funny old man dancing to “We like to Party” and then throw in shots of some good roller coasters does make for a good commercial :)

I believe that this is a very succesful ad campaign that will definetly bring more people back to Six Flags. I wish Six Flags America would upgrade the park and get better workers that are not rude and very negligent.

I’m so glad they are bringing Mr. Six back. The Six Flags more fun campaign was horrible. So bad, that I didn’t go to six flags because of the more fun commercial. It just turned me off from going.

I saw Mr. Six today and wanted to like him. He did unnerve me a bit though and terrified my kids. I will say that he did have lots of enthusiasm.

A couple posts talk about Mr Six being scary. I guess that means they never take their kids to see their grandpa. I wrote Six Flags a couple years back and told them what a big mistake they were making dropping Mr Six. He’s back and I LOVE IT! That music just makes you want to have fun.

I love it that they brought Mr. Six back. I love those commercials. They always bring a smile to my face.

Why does Six Flags keep the 2004-05 Mr Six videos on YouTube private? These should be used to get free positive PR for Six Flags and thus more visitors to their theme parks. Mr Six videos always put a smile on my face…
