
> Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was ousted on Sunday in a coup, and was taken from his home and flown to Costa Rica. One of his rivals, Roberto Micheletti, was sworn in by Congress to take his place. The U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa advised U.S. residents to stay in their homes and hotels on Sunday and restrict travel to necessary trips today. The embassy reports that the streets of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula are quiet but urges people to avoid large gatherings and do not try to pass roadblocks. At the time of this post there were no travel warnings or travel alerts issued by the State Department.
