More Labor Day Vegas deals: Mandalay Bay & Mirage

The other day we pointed you toward some Las Vegas Labor Day hotel deals through some of the big travel houses including Orbitz, Travelzoo, Travel Worm and Vegas.com. Since then, a few more Vegas hotel deals have crossed my desk that I wanted to share in case you’re booking a spontaneous trip to Sin CIty this weekend.

Mandalay Bay | Rooms start at $110 per night Aug. 27–Sept. 4, 2008. Call (877) 632-7800 or book online and ask for promo code “PLABOR-P2.” The cheapest dates are midweek as you might expect. When I checked the availability calendar, rooms cost $160 (Friday), $260 (Saturday) and $150 (Sunday), pre-tax. Note, the promo code only saves you $10 off per day from the going rates on Mandalay Bay’s website.

Mirage | They’re not calling it a Labor Day sale, but you can get rooms at the Mirage starting at $77 per night through Sept. 6, 2008. Here’s why they’re not calling it a Labor Day sale: Guests can get this low rate Sundays–Thursdays only. I tested the “Summer Special” deal and found the $77 rate Sept. 1-4, 2008. If you were to use this deal and stay Aug. 29–Sept. 1, the cost would be $546 after taxes. That might sound like a lot, but when you see that the Hard Rock Las Vegas is charging $1,777 for the same three nights, $546 for center Strip doesn’t look so bad. Note: This deal can only be booked online.
