Golfaholics, this deal’s for you. Stay at least one night at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, and they’ll throw in unlimited golf at Mexico’s top-rated Palmilla Golf Club, where the 27 holes of the Mountain, Ocean and Arroyo courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus. You can gaze out at the desert cacti and the Sea of Cortez before teeing off, then plunge into the Hilton’s infinity pool later that afternoon.
Deal: The “Unlimited Palmilla Golf Package” at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort includes overnight accommodations, a $50 hotel food and beverage credit and unlimited play at the Palmilla Golf Club.
When I tried booking a few different dates in July, I found unlimited golf package rates starting at $386.50 for single occupancy, $525 per double (excluding taxes). In comparison, the best available rate for a room alone on those dates was $186, and a daytime round of golf at Palmilla costs at least $180$209. Throw in the hotel’s food and beverage credit, and you’ll be saving money even if you only play one round.
When: Offer valid for stays from June 1st through October 15th, 2007 (subject to availability).
Caveat: The Hilton’s unlimited golf package price doesn’t include transportation for the 15-mile round trip between the hotel and the Palmilla Golf Club. Given the sky-high rates charged by taxis in Los Cabos, you’d be smart to consider reserving a rental car for airport pick-up instead.
Why Go: If you’ve got incredible stamina as a golfer – for you, 18 holes a day just isn’t enough.
Why Not: Summer in Baja is hot, with average temperatures climbing above 100 degrees during June, the hottest month. From August onward, expect the possibility of stormy weather.
Have you played at Palmilla? Is it truly one of Baja’s best courses? Tell us by posting in the Comments section below.
