Mexico - March 6 deadline for spring-break flights

Musicians in ZihuatanejoIn a post a couple of days ago, I suggested destinations in Mexico for those who want to avoid spring-break party spots. In order to be fair and balanced — and also because the topic of spring break is, well, fun — I am back to present you ready-to-break student readers with some deals by STA Travel to below-the-border spots.

Of the three destinations listed below, Cancun is probably the most popular spring-break go-to, with its resort-rich beaches and hopping nightlife (note that Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan, not included below, are huge spring-party spots too). Beach resorts are also the mainstay for tourists in the two cities of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo, northwest of Acapulco. Mexico City isn’t your typical spring-break destination, but the more city-minded might like to explore its cultural offerings, restaurants and bars. It’s also a jumping-off point for just about anywhere else you’d like to go in Mexico.

STA Travel is offering the following flights to Mexico from Los Angeles (LAX), but you must act now as these fares (all pre-tax) are good until March 6, 2008:

- To Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo (ZIH), $160/round trip
- To Mexico City (MEX), $194/round trip
- To Cancun (CUN), $217/round trip

Note: When booking, enter the promotion code “SpringBreak2008″ for a discount. For total purchases up to $500, you’ll get $25 off; for $1,000, you’ll get $50 off. And for $2,000, it’s $100 off.

Before planning any vacation to Mexico it is imperative to be informed. The non-natural causes of deaths of tourist in Mexico is escalating at alarming rates. To confirm this fact please refer to travel.state.gov and Google Brent Midlock or Nolan Webster.
