School-free summer days are drawing ever closer, which means now’s the time to book that vacation getaway for the family, if you haven’t already. I’m noticing a number of promotions for all-inclusive resorts in Mexico offering family specials for stays in June, July and August. The gist of most of them is this: One child per adult can stay, eat and play for free. (That’s right, I guess normally you’ve even gotta pay to play these days.)
Most of the specials I’m seeing apply to children 12 years old and younger, who are not counted in the per-person-rate tally as long as there are a maximum of two children per two-adult room. They eat free at resort restaurants, and many of the resorts offer children’s activities and programs.
Ready to start looking? Wyndham Resorts’ two Playa del Carmen locations, the Viva Wyndham Maya and the Viva Wyndham Azteca, are offering the deal. And, available through U.S. Airways vacations, the El Cid hotel in Mazatlan has a similar deal going (though kids 14 years old and under are eligible).
Florida-based travel company Future Vacations is advertising over 30 resorts with such deals throughout Mexico. Most of the resorts require a two-night minimum.
Unfortunately I’m not seeing any “kids stay, eat, play and fly free,” but maybe that’s asking for too much.
Have you ever taken a “kids stay/eat/play free” vacation? Did it turn out to be a good deal?
