Metrolink, Amtrak back in service after fire-related interruptions

Sunrise on Tuesday gives a smoky view on the west side of Aliso Canyon. Homes were saved as the Sesnon fire ripped through the canyon in the Porter Ranch neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Metrolink trains are up and running on regular schedule from Los Angeles as of 9:45 a.m. today (Oct. 14) after being shut beyond Chatsworth because of fires in the area. Amtrak also confirmed that its trains — including the northbound Pacific Surfliner from San Diego to Santa Barbara and the southbound from San Luis Obispo to San Diego — left on time this morning, and all trains are running on schedule today. (Check out the Bottleneck blog for more closures/updates.)

The back country in the Angeles and San Bernardino national forests are open except for the fire-related closures in Lopez, Kagel and Tujunga canyons in the Angeles National Forest.
