Are you looking to take the kids on a vacation this summer but don’t want to spend your life’s savings? You’re not alone. Consider Mexico’s Mayan Riviera while you’re hunting around for a deal.
Deal: Book It’s All-Inclusive vacation prices at Gran Bahía Principe Akumal Resort have been slashed in half. Rates that were $159/person are now $79 (meals, drinks, tips and tax included).
When: Must book by April 30 for travel May 1 – June 30 & Sept. 1 – Dec. 20, 2007.
Why Go: Family friendly resort with lots of comped sports like sailing, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling and more. Supervised Kids Club there, too. When I went through the booking process for three days at the end of May the price came to $474 total for two adults. Additional tours and transport were tempting and could rack up the bill.
Why Not: The pictures make it look like a pretty big complex, almost campus like. Not necessarily for the lovey-dovey couple looking for an intimate experience.
Caution: The resort is an hour away from the Cancun airport. After scouring the net, it seems like guests have regular complaints about getting bookings at a la carte restaurants as opposed to buffets. Look into and consider all upgrade options before booking.
