May Day; Amtrak Coast Starlight; Reno earthquakes; Matt Lauer in Istanbul

Good morning travelers! It’s May Day. Where are the marches? In Los Angeles, there will be a May Day march downtown and here’s a map of the closures. TRAVEL TV | Where in the World is Matt Lauer? So far this week he’s been to Buenos Aires, Amsterdam and Laos. There it is, tune into the ‘Today’ show to see Matt in Istanbul, Turkey. Matt has traveled 25,294 miles and spent 53 hours in the air since he left home.

TRAIN TRAVEL | In case you haven’t heard, the Amtrak Coast Starlight is returning to full service in May.

EARTHQUAKE NEWS | The tallies are in. Reno has had more than 1,000 tremors over the past two months. This unique earthquake series has been coined the “Mogul earthquake sequence.” In California, a 4.4-magnitude quake struck early Thursday morning near Bakersfield.

TRAVEL CLOTHING | The BOOT announced the winners of the Hubwear contest. The challenge was to put together creative airport code combos.
