Martin Scorsese and Tina Fey “bonus cut”: Would you buy a timeshare in Boca from this guy?

Who issues a “bonus cut” from a TV ad?

American Express does, particularly when it features director Martin Scorsese and Tina Fey, the Sarah Palin look-alike on “Saturday Night Live” who won three Emmys on Sunday night for the TV comedy show “30 Rock.”

The American Express ad this summer, titled “Airport Lounge,” shows Fey (playing herself) frantically trying to get access to Scorsese by trying to get into an airport lounge because she’s sure he has a script for her. Her coach airline ticket doesn’t allow access but her American Express card does.

The punch line? Scorsese has something to pitch — a timeshare in Boca Raton, Fla., not a script.

In a release, American Express says there was more to the exchange between the two — and the cameras kept rolling. So here’s the funny continuation (the “bonus cut”) of where the ad left off (above).

Wow…drags a bit but they should have at least kept in the stuff about sharks. “Or…dangerous sharks, I could say…”. You know I never thought about it before but Marty’s micro-machines vocal speed and uncanny gift of creative emphasis would make him the perfect timeshare salesman. He makes the decisions for you! “I knew you would love it!” That’s probably why he’s “selling” various credit cards now.

And you know what? I’d buy a timeshare for Marty just for the story, even if it would mean (and it WOULD) a trip to a title transfer service like Timeshare Relief a week later. Ha!
