With Valentine’s Day just a couple of weeks away, it’s time to get on board with a plan for the evening (which is, conveniently, a Saturday this year). Whether you think the traditional holiday is sweet or schmaltzy, it’s a good excuse to treat your beloved to something special…like, say, a dinner cruise on the ocean.
Valentine’s events are being offered by Hornblower Cruises in a few locations in L.A. and Orange counties: in Marina del Rey (departing from Fisherman’s Village), Long Beach (departing from Rainbow Harbor) and Newport Beach (departing from 2431 W. Pacific Coast Highway).
The three-hour cruises come with a four-course dinner, abundant champagne and live bands to get you dancing.
Time: All cruises depart at 8 p.m.; boarding begins at 7:30 p.m.
Cost: $150 per adult (tickets for seniors and military are $135). Prices do not include tax or gratuities.
Note: Can’t swing three Benjamins for a dinner for two? Skip the meal and go straight for the cocktails with Hornblower’s Sweetheart Sunset Cruise. Available from Marina del Rey and Newport Beach, the two-hour cruises, with complimentary appetizers and a cash bar, depart at 3:30 p.m. and are available only on Feb. 14, at the rate of $28 per person.
