Los Angeles: ‘Stay & play’ in downtown L.A.

Hilton Checkers

The Downtown Center Business Improvement District and several hotels have put together the “L.A. Stay & Play” promotion. Not all of the deals can be booked through the hotels’ websites, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for online, call the hotel directly. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or are looking to “staycate” in town, check out the following samples of offerings.

Omni Los Angeles Hotel: Its “Show Must Go On” package, which starts at $299 per night (pre-tax), encourages you to take in a night of dinner and theater. The package includes your room, a $100 credit to Noe Restaurant, valet parking, round-trip transportation to the theater, a nightcap of wine in your room and full breakfast the next morning. When: Friday- and Saturday-night stays, now through Dec. 31, 2008. Contact: Omni, (888) 444-6664

Los Angeles Athletic Club: This one’s for the sports fans. For $250 (pre-tax), you get a night’s accommodations, two premium loge seats at Dodger Stadium, free hotel parking and a buffet breakfast. Ask for the “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” package. When: Now until the last Dodgers game of the season Sept. 25, 2008. Contact: Los Angeles Athletic Club, (800) 421-8777

They could also include free transportation to one of the Grand Performances in downtown. That would be a nice addition.
