London West Hollywood opens a rooftop pool

Los Angeles Times staff writer Valli Herman just reviewed the much-ballyhooed London West Hollywood on the Sunset Strip — and already there’s more to report.

The old Wyndham Bel-Age, Valli mentioned in her review, has turned into “the place for a certain set of now-gray cool cats to see and be seen.”

The all-suites hotel with 200 rooms just unveiled its rooftop pool and sun deck, which sits on the 10th floor and, according to a release from the hotel, will feature “English garden-style landscaping” and cabanas, a nice mix of — what shall we call it? — Brit-Angeleno?

The deck also features a dining menu crafted by star chef Gordon Ramsay of TV’s “Hell’s Kitchen” fame, who directs all culinary operations at the hotel. The menu includes dishes such as edamame with Yuzu salt and fresh sushi rolls and radish-wrapped asparagus tempura.

But remember: You only get to use the pool if you’re a guest — or maybe hang out with someone who is.
