A new comedy-adventure musical debuting May 23, 2008, at Legoland California transports the audience via time machine back to Cleopatra’s tomb in ancient Egypt.
Aimed at kids 2 to 12 years old, the 25-minute “Journey to the Lost Temple” show will run year-round in the Playtown Theater on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 23 to June 9 and daily from June 13 to Sept. 1.
The first-of-its-kind show for the Carlsbad kiddie park ties in with the new Lost Kingdom of Adventure dark ride.
The score features classic pop songs such as “Walk Like an Egyptian” and “The Time Warp Dance” as well as music written especially for the production.
Characters include:
* Johnny Thunder, the Australian archaeologist adventurer
* Cleopatra, a trendy Valley Girl diva
* Sam Sinister, the brilliant and witty villain
* Pippin Reed, an intrepid reporter (aren’t we all!)
* Renee Simpleton, a National Adventurer Museum curator
