EXPIRED Last-minute: San Diego-NYC this weekend—$204

Newstip: Cheap flights to New York City this weekend if you can get yourself down to San Diego. There is a slight chance of rain on Saturday, but you’ll be on a plane. The weather is expected to be clear and at a high of 77ºF on Sunday.

Deal: Round-trip tickets from San Diego to New York (SAN to JFK) are $204 including taxes when you book on Orbitz through Travelzoo. When I searched for seats I found two non-stop options on both Delta and American Airlines.

Why Go: If you fly the Delta route you can try out the new helicopter ride to Manhattan. Use your savings on the cross-country flight to try a new experience. Also, when I tried flights on the same dates out of LAX the lowest price was $379 (with one-stop) and $770 for nonstop. BUR returned one-stop fares of $431 and LGB was $455.

Why Not: You need more than a three-night getaway or can’t be bothered to fly out of San Diego.

When: Fly out June 9 and return June 11 or 12.
