Amusement park news |  Coney Island’s historic Astroland amusement park might really be closing this time. A $1.5-billion complex is set to break ground next year.  Astroland’s continued existence hinges on getting a two-year lease. Read: Is the ride at Coney Island really over this time?

California events | Labor Day means the end of summer to most folks, but who says we have to stop having fun? There are lots of events going on around California this month, including the Capitola Art & Wine Festival, Taste of the Town in Santa Barbara, Southern California’s largest free music festival (Adams Avenue Street Fair in San Diego) and our own L.A.
