Trump International Hotel & Tower opened in Las Vegas this morning and I went over to check it out. It was pretty quiet except for a few photographers. I chatted with June, the Trump concierge, who said that they were expecting 35 to 40 reservations today with more every day going forward. The first restaurant to open is DJT, named after you-know-who. It’ll be open for lunch starting at noon with a small-bite menu. There will also be a poolside restaurant opening soon called H2(eau).
In Vegas, grand lobbies are nothing new, but I loved that this hotel had four doormen, one on each door to make sure you didn’t have to strain yourself getting into the hotel. Imagine having two doors opened for you, and then two more doors opened two steps later.
What’s all that shiny stuff, you ask? The exterior windows are gilded with 24-carat gold.
Here are some personal snapshots from the first 30 minutes Trump International Hotel & Tower was open to the public.

Driving North on the Strip, it looks as if Trump is right at the other end of Las Vegas Boulevard. But as you get closer, right around the Mirage, it disappears behind Treasure Island.

Pull your car up, come on in — Trump International Hotel & Tower entrance area.

Every hotel should have doormen who open doors for you.

The lobby glows from all the chandeliers.

Was going through an article at http://www.octanmen.com/articleDetail/352/lost-in-los-angeles.htm
which explains about the beauty of Los Angeles. I found the piece quite interesting. You guys check it out too.

The facade is very Vegas, lots of glitter, but the rooms are totally underwhelming. Very small and very bland. I was not impressed at all.
