Las Vegas: Smoking-hot hotel deals on and off the Strip

Practically every Sin City hotel is offering some kind of discount or incentive to lure you in this summer. If you can get away midweek, you’re set to save the most, but even weekender packages are well-priced for the hottest, driest months. Following is a selection of particularly pocket-friendly sales to get you started. Prices below don’t include taxes.

$27 at the Excalibur
Ever stayed at this classically Vegas (as in, over-the-top) place? If not, you can take advantage of a 30% discount being offered for first-time guests. For stays now through Feb. 28, 2010, you must book by June 24 to secure these discounted rates. Rooms are as low as $27 per night for stays Monday through Thursdays in June and July, but starting rates for weekend nights are $69 to $116.

$39 at Bally’s
Internet-only rates here are as low as $39 per night, midweek, this summer. No minimum stay is required for this rate.

$40 at Luxor
Its Get to the Point sale runs through June 24 (for stays between now and Feb. 28, 2010), and offers rates as low as $40 per night. The lowest of the low are on weekdays in mid- to late July, though some weekends are attractively priced too, with a couple Fridays in late August starting at $79 per night. The promo code is “LDRATE5.”

$47 at New York New York
New York New York is advertising its “lowest rates ever.” For two-night stays, rates slashed by 30% are available from now through Dec. 31, 2009, if you book by June 24. Searching for rooms online, most rooms available this month start at $51 per night, but Sunday through Thursday nights in July are teeming with the $47 deal. The lowest weekend-night rate you’ll find at this hotel this summer, though, is $109 (though $129 is a more common starting price June through August).

$49 w/ food credit + show tix at Golden Nugget
For weekdays at this downtown spot with consistently great deals, you can get Sunday through Thursday night stays for as low as $49, and weekends for $99 and up. Not impressed? You also get a $25 food and beverage credit and two-for-one tickets to Gordie Brown Live. The code you need is “GROOVY.”

$129 w/ resort credit at Venetian
If you want help crafting a dining-and-entertainment itinerary, consider the offerings of this package, which you must book by June 30. Rooms are as low as $129 per night and come with these added-value optional items: $25 slot credit; $40 off select seats at “Phantom”; line pass/admission to Lavo nightclub; and a couple restaurant discounts with minimum purchases ($25 off at Dos Caminos and $30 off at Woo).

$129 w/ resort/casino credit at Planet Hollywood
Among its handful of packages, Planet Hollywood is offering a Fortunes of Fame deal, which features a $50 resort credit daily (which can be used on anything, except your room, charged to your room); and $40 of casino credit. This package is available starting at $129 per night on weekdays, and from $209 on weekends. Mention promotion code “SRC50″
