Thank you, Harrah’s. Thank you for noticing that the Flamingo needed an upgrade. Vegas vets love Bugsy Segal’s baby on the “Four Corners” for its prime location and cheap rates, but actually sleeping in the rooms has left us—at least me—wishing I was staying across the street. No more. The Flamingo has teamed up with Cagley & Tanner to design a whole new set of retro-chic rooms and suites. At first glance, the new “Go Rooms” seem like just what fans of the Golden Era of Vegas have been wishing for.
Deals: The new Go Rooms are available now and are regularly priced between $180 and $500/night through June. I took a good look at Harrah’s Availability Calendar and found that you can still score a weekend rate of $210/night in June. Grab a midweek rate of $110/night on April 9, or May 28–29, and $130/night on June 6 and 20.
When: Through June based on availability.
More…Details: In addition to more Go Rooms and suites, Flamingo is working on three other lines of rooms called GO Metropolitan (opulent two-bedroom 1,500-square-foot suites), GO Neapolitan (pink 650 square-foot suites) and GO Cosmopolitan (800-square-foot one-bedroom suites), to be finished by November 2007. All the Go Rooms have wireless Internet, flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations, among other amenities.
