Las Vegas: Deals, deals and more hotel deals

If you’re giving New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas a miss, think about a short jaunt to Sin City in January. At hotels up and down the Strip, promotions are plentiful next month. Here are a few tempters that have crossed my desk in recent days.

Luxor: Select nights in the coming few weeks have low price tags. Just $45 per night (pre-tax) will get you a room for any number of nights between Jan. 25 and 29, 2009. The rate is as low as $50 per night for stays Jan. 4-6, 11-12 and 18-22. Book online or call in with promo code “LDBLST1.”

When: Book by Jan. 7 for discounted stays between now and Mar. 31, 2009.

New York-New York: Get 30% off of your stay. Plus, book on select “bonus days” — see the dates shaded in blue on the promotion’s online calendar and receive an upgrade to a Strip-view room if you’ve booked a skyline room, two complementary cocktails, a $25 credit on $100 purchase at hotel retailers, two-for-one breakfast at Il Fornaio, two-for-one spa pass, and a two-for-one roller coaster pass. This one must be booked online.

When: Book by Dec. 30, 2008, for stays between now and Aug. 31, 2009.

Harrah’s Las Vegas: Select nights are available for as low as $50 per night (pre-tax). Applicable dates include Jan. 11-15 and Jan. 25-29. The cheapest weekends next month are the weekend of Jan. 2 ($95) and Jan. 3 ($70), and the weekend of Jan. 23 and 24 ($85).

Bellagio: Buy two nights and get a third free. This is valid for deluxe rooms, which start at $169 per night (pre-tax). Book online, or use code “3N169FN” if calling.

When: Book by Jan. 28 for stays between now and Jan. 28.

Stratosphere: This towering hotel may not be central enough for some, but if you don’t plan to venture far from your home-base casino, then this is a deal worth considering. The “All You Can Eat, Stay & Play” package includes your room and three buffet meals per day for $39 per person (pre-tax) per night for stays Sunday to Thursday, and $100 per person per night for stays Friday and Saturday night.
