Gung Hay Fat Choy! If you’re in Vegas, stop by the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens to see its tribute to Chinese New Year and celebration of the Year of the Ox. The ox is a symbol of prosperity, and visitors will find an 18-foot-tall Chinese god of wealth and fortune with Ming Dynasty-styled vessels on either side of him to ward off bad luck. Also in the display are three giant pandas made from 9,000 living plants.
The 15-foot-long ox is made up of 10,000 living Alternanthera.

In the mood for Chinese food? Take a drive up Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas’ Chinatown. I would go to Cathay House (5300 Spring Mountain Rd.) for dim sum and follow it up with a foot massage a few doors down in the same strip mall. If you’d like to stay on the Strip for fine dining, there’s Jasmine at Bellagio, Fin at the Mirage and Red 8 at Wynn.

Excellent recommendation on Cathay House for dim sum. It’s been a favorite of mine for years. Can also try Harbor Palace (4275 Spring Mountain Rd - heart of Chinatown in a large, fun Chinese mall) or Orchids (5485 W Sahara Ave at Lindell).
Have been to all three, most times the dim sum is nice and hot - other days, well, it’s best to go to any dim sum place when it’s busy.
